What this is
Display Test Lab is a set of free screen tests that run in your browser, with nothing to install and no account. Two of them measure: the FPS test counts the frames your browser shows each second, and the refresh rate test works out how fast your screen really refreshes. The rest fill your screen with colors, patterns and moving shapes, so you can spot dead pixels, backlight bleed or motion blur with your own eyes. The frame rate comparisons let you watch 30 fps next to 60, or 144 Hz next to 240, on your own screen.
What a browser can’t measure
Your browser never tells a page your refresh rate, so we work it out from the frames it draws. Some things no page can reach at all: your monitor’s input lag, and your graphics card’s temperature, clock speed and power draw. That’s why the GPU stress test shows frame rate and frame time instead. Browsers also don’t report how bright your screen can get, so in Chrome and Edge the HDR test draws patches brighter than white and lets you see where your screen stops getting brighter.
Getting a true result
Leave graphics acceleration on in your browser settings: without it, frames are timed by a software clock instead of by your screen. Battery savers slow pages down, often to 30 fps, so plug a laptop in and turn off Low Power Mode on your iPhone or Mac before you test. With two monitors, drag the window onto the one you want to test.

Where our numbers come from
Some numbers are plain math: a frame at 144 Hz lasts 6.94 ms. The rest come from people who measured them: review labs such as RTINGS, the makers’ own support pages, and published studies. Each page lists its sources at the bottom, so you can check any of them.
No ads or affiliate links
The site shows no ads and has no affiliate links, so nobody pays us when you click or buy something. The only links to other sites are the sources at the bottom of each page.
Your data stays with you
Your results stay in your browser. We don’t set cookies, run analytics or show ads, and nothing on these pages loads from another site. The privacy page lists what gets saved and how to delete it.
